Daniel S. Pasternack, MBA

Daniel S Pasternack, MBA is a lifelong sports obsessive.  From the time he could read, he quickly became known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the stats and history of sports.  During his youth, he was especially interested in baseball, especially the stories of the less famous players or the truly unique ones like Moe Berg (who was a spy) and Fleet Walker (the last black player in Major League Baseball before the ban).  As he began to study about the Negro Leagues, he became especially interested in the greats who were excluded from Major League Baseball.  Players like Cool Papa Bell, Oscar Charleston, Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson and Pop Lloyd became his favorites and he even wrote his Junior Year US History Thesis paper on the integration of Major League Baseball.

After spending the first two decades of his life as a player, Pasternack was an inner-city teacher and high school head coach for years and spent many more years on the sidelines of urban Little League teams.  He also ran the San Diego RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program sponsored by his Nonprofit Organization, Athletic Initiative, Inc. for several years before moving to Las Vegas to found the baseball program at Democracy Prep at the Agassi Campus and coach the girls basketball program there too.  While in Las Vegas, Pasternack founded the Team Vegas Girls Basketball Program and was a coach with Las Vegas Ice Center's 8U and 10U programs.

Pasternack grew up participating in many sports, including Basketball, Ice Hockey, Roller Hockey, Soccer, Football, Golf, Karate, Boxing and Tennis.  Pasternack also co-founded the K-8 Charter School, Old Town Academy in San Diego and was the founder of both the basketball and football programs there.  Pasternack spent more than a decade in the finance industry as an analyst, investment advisor and financial planner, earning FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 designations as well as being licensed as a California State Life and Health Insurance Agent.

He currently is the Business Manager for the Barnesville School of Arts and Sciences in Barnesville, Maryland and is also an a Lead Faculty Area Chair and Instructor in Finance at the University of Phoenix.  In his (limited) spare time, he spends time with his family and plays on two ice hockey teams.
